Email client configuration examples

Configure your email clients (Mail.app or Outlook or Thunderbird) using the guides below. If you have any questions, please contact us. Thanks, and enjoy!

Mail.app

  1. Create a new IMAP email account, substituting your info into the screenshot below. Be sure to use your full email address as your user name. Also, use stottsan.com to ensure that when you select SSL later you don't receive an SSL certificate warning.

  2. Select "Add Server" from the SMTP server select box, then configure with the info shown below. Note that this will enable SSL to protect your credentials and data in transit. Again, you can use your own hostname, but you will get an SSL certificate warning, so use stottsan.com instead.

  3. Go to the "Special Mailboxes" tab and configure appropriately. Use the below screenshot for "suggested" settings, but of course do whatever you're comfortable with.

  4. Go to the "Advanced" tab and configure appropriately. Be sure to use INBOX as the IMAP Path Prefix, and also check SSL.

  2. Select "More Settings...", go to the "Advanced" tab and continue to the next screen. Enable SSL for both incoming and outgoing to protect your credentials and data in transit. Also be sure to use INBOX as the "Root folder path" value. Don't select SPA since this option is not compatible with our mail servers.
