Goodbye GoDaddy (our stance on SOPA)

We're happy to announce that we have moved all of our domain registrations off of GoDaddy, primarily due to their support of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). Although GoDaddy has subsequently changed their position on SOPA, in our opinion this was too little, too late...

Like many other online companies and communities, we feel that SOPA is a significant threat to free speech on the Internet, and to the Internet itself. SOPA has the potential to result in censorship for users, and it is a direct threat towards Web hosting companies like us.

This quote from Namecheap's CEO sums it up perfectly:

While we at Namecheap firmly believe in intellectual rights, SOPA is like detonating a nuclear bomb on the internet when only a surgical strike is necessary. This legislation has the potential to harm the way everyone uses the Internet and to undermine the system itself. At Namecheap, we believe having a free and open Internet is the only option that will continue the legacy of innovation and openess that stands for everything we all value in our modern society.

Monthly pricing for email marketing

We are very happy to announce a new monthly pricing option for our Email Marketing platform. This has been the most frequently requested feature from our clients, and we're excited to roll it out!

The monthly pricing is perfect for anyone who sends at least one campaign a month. There are no sending limits, and you pay based on the size of your subscriber list. While our pricing chart only shows up to 10,000 subscribers, we can support up to 50,000 subscribers with unlimited sending, and 500,000+ with some reasonable limits.

Of course, if you only send occasional campaigns, you can stick with our per-campaign pricing: $10/campaign + 5¢/recipient. You'll only pay when you send an email campaign to more than 5 people, too.

To celebrate this new pricing flexibility, we have also retired the $50 setup fee. So no matter which pricing model you choose, there are no contracts or setup fees, and you can cancel at any time. Mobile optimized email marketing reports

We're very happy to announce a new mobile optimized version of our email marketing platform, which gives you quick and on-the-go access to beautiful reports for any campaigns you've sent!

To access the mobile optimized version, just point your mobile browser to our campaign URL (i.e. http://campaign.stottsan.com) and log in as you normally would. Currently we're targeting iPhone and Android devices, but most modern smartphones should give you a good experience.

There's nothing to install, nothing to configure, and no additional charges. All of our email marketing clients have access to this immediately.

Well, hey there! Welcome to the new Stottsan Digital Media site!

It was certainly time for a reboot, and we're very happy with the result.

You'll see that there's not a lot of bling -- instead we focused on bits of functionality that our current and future clients were missing like Support and Services.
